Serves 6 to 8

Ingredients:

    • 1 cup sugar
    • 3 Tablespoons cornstarch
    • 2 cups milk
    • 4 beaten egg yolks
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
    • 1 baked pastry crust
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 Tablespoon stick margarine
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla
    • 2 ounces cream cheese
    • 2 cups sliced bananas
    • 1 1/2 cups whipped topping
    • Chocolate curls

Directions:
Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1 Tablespoon cornstarch. In saucepan, add 1 cup milk gradually to egg yolks, stirring. Add sugar mixture. Cook at medium, stirring until thick. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Add chocolate chips and stir until melted. Pour into pastry shell and chill.

Combine remaining two Tablespoons of cornstarch, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, 2 eggs, 1 cup milk and margarine in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring. Bring to a boil and reduce heat; cook until thick. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Beat cream cheese until light. Add remaining hot custard mixture to cheese and blend. Put banana slices on top of chocolate layer. Spoon custard over bananas. Chill 4 hours. Spread whipped topping evenly over custard. Garnish with chocolate curls. Chill.
