My Hero before the awful tradegy was my mom and after that happened it was still my mom. My mom didnt go anywhere to help anyone, she didn't stand in a line to give blood and she didnt go on the news or anything to inform people. She sat at home and watched the tradegy while it was happening. She comforted me while this was happening. She made sure that me and my sister were all right. And for some reason she got a A+ on all of those things. I know after September 11 2001 all lot of people thought of their heroes as a firefighter, police officer or even a military member but my hero is a normal, average person who got me through all of those hard times. Also a year after September 11 my mom is STILL my hero. - Brittany - Age: 13 - From ITALY

I was watching a documentry and WOAH! Some of those fire men were so brave. I am proud of them and I feel sorry for them as they have lost their brothers and of course it's not easy to loose a friend. HAve a great day and god bless the Firemen, policemen, paramedics, rescue workers and the family's of the people who's family died for keeping strong. After 9/11, I respected firefighters so much more than I used to. But most people pay most attention to the trade centers and the pentagon. they don't realize that the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania could have been heading for the capital or white house in Washington DC! Those people on the plane realized it and took over and crash into a feild. They probably saved one of our most important buildings in DC. REMEMBER THEM TOO! - Emma - Age: 11 - From UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)
My opinion on fire fighters is totaly differnt. I used to think that they were nothing but ppl who went into burning houses. When i heard all about what they did, i changed my mind. I also think that the police officers and paramedics are brave. i like to see that everyone is helping the city of New York 4 what they did. its kool. I hope that nothing like 9/11 hapens again. it was scary to hear on the raido that my city was under a code orange, after it happened. i heard about it in school and no 1 thought it was a big deal. - Tony - Age: 13 - From UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

The 9-11-01 has changed my life as a teen. I am looking into the future and not into the past like I was before then(If You Know What I Mean). I now care about more things and situtations than I did. Now I am more proud of my country and respect it more then ever...which I should have before then but I wasn't, because you should always respect and be proud of who you are and where your at.I now also care more about my friends and I think before saying stuff. The reason why that plane didn't hit another target was because the brave people on that plane actually took over the plane and stopped the terrorists. I think they should earn the most respect and those people will forever remain heroes in my heart. - Kelsey - Age: 11 - From AUSTRALIA

Ithink that an hero is a person that is nice and kind. Also is a person that is willing to save someones life even if they don't know the person. i think that the people that were in the world trade center and is a person that can run in to a burning buliding. a would run into a burning buliding and a falling at that. i think that all the people involed in the attack are my heroes.Besides the ones that mad the plane crashs. and don't for get the other planes that charshed to and the heroes that where on them.and trhat is what i think a hero is. - Heather - Age: 12 - From UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)
My idea of a hero hasnt exactly changed, before I dont really think I had an idea of what a hero was, but now I have no doubt of what a hero is. A hero is anyone, a child or an adult, who would risk their lives or would use their lives to better the world of others. As an American and as a person I want to thank all of those who were at the Trade Centers and in the planes. I also want to thank the other people who just voluntered to plant a garden in memory. Either way those people are my heroes. - Lindsay - Age: 13 - From UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)
My mind still hasn't changed about who is a hero and who isn't. My dad has been a fire fighter for over twelve years and I always thought of him as my hero. After 9/11 he was still my hero and always will be. - Heather - Age: 11 - From UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)
