From Deb (USA)

Materials:

  • Air drying modeling compound or clay
  • Ribbon, 1/8 inch wide by 26 inches for necklace
  • Instruments to make designs, i.e. popsicle sticks, pencils, paper clip, etc.
  • Acrylic paints
  • Paint brush
  • Tapestry needle
Directions:

Take small amounts of air-drying clay or modeling compound and form into desired shapes and size for beads. Use household utensils to make indentations and carvings into beads. Undo one end of a paper clip. Use pointed end of paper clip to make a hole through bead large enough for ribbon to fit through. Allow beads to dry according to instructions of the product you are using. After they are dried, use acrylic paint to add accents and extra designs to beads. When paint is dried string beads onto ribbon. You may need to use a tapestry needle. Knot the two ribbon ends together.
