I don't know if anyone has read the kids responses on their side of the board, but it is very disturbing and very inspirational. One child was upset because they weren't old enough to give blood, another was going to get all their money together and send it to the red cross. Let's start now teaching our children how to answer the call for help. They may not be able to give blood or money, but they can give their time and their youthful creativity. Have them make cards to send to the red cross workers and to the shelters. Help them to find a place to volunteer. Let them go with you to see what happens when people give blood. Let them ask the people organizing the blood drives how they can help. Have them buy a container of orange juice to donate to the blood drives. There is so much that the kids of the USA can do. Send letters and cards to the President, to their senators and US representative members. Let's take this disaster and teach our kids how to react positively so that they can be responsible as adults when their time comes. Out of the ashes the phoenix emerges, reborn, renewed, and the USA will do the same.
