hosting first baby baby shower, ideas?

Any cute ideas for a baby shower? I am on sort of a budget, and want to keep it simple and elegant. I have lots of ideas, i just can't seem to organize them all.
I thought some flowers planted in some pretty coffee mugs would be a good favor. What do you think? The biggest challenge is the cake. I really ned ideas for that. It is a ducky theme with yellow , pink and white as the colors. This party is pretty special. My friend went through several miscarriages before getting pregnant. I want to make this special and memorable! Thanks sooo much!!
